A new candidate for state Governor is making his way across the Upper Peninsula. He made a stop in Ishpeming Thursday for the Democratic Party of Marquette County’s summer sizzle. Democratic Candidate Bill Cobbs addressed the crowd at the Al Quaal Recreation Area.
Originally from downstate Farmington Hills, Cobbs spent time in the US Navy before beginning a career as a business executive. Cobbs says, among other issues, he’s for preserving the Great Lakes, better funding for education and infrastructure improvements.
“The reason the voters of Michigan should choose me as their next Governor is I’m going to work for them,” said Cobbs (D). “I’m not taking special interest money, I firmly believe there’s true value in running a grass roots campaign, when I take office I intend to only be accountable to one group of people, and that’s the citizens.”
Cobbs will be making his way to Houghton Friday, early next week he’ll be in Sault St. Marie.
