A large crowd packed into Seven Steps Up on Tuesday night to hear Democratic gubernatorial candidate Bill Cobbs speak about his vision for the future of Michigan and the 2018 election.
Cobbs, a Detroit native who lives in Farmington Hills, described his journey from his days in the U.S. Navy, attending college and working as a police officer to becoming global vice president of the Xerox Corp.
“When people ask me why I’m running for governor, it’s a simple answer,” he said. “I grew up knowing the difference between right and wrong.”
Cobbs said he believes the way the government operates needs to be changed so it can work for the “regular people like us.18
